"Doctors suspend strike"
The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has been call-off nationwide strike.The doctors action is however coming just as the Joint Health Sector Union have given notice to begin an indefinite strike on Wednesday next week.
National President of the association, Dr. John Onyebueze announced the suspension early hours of today said doctors decided to end the strike after considering efforts made by government.
In statement reads: “After due consideration of the efforts by Government and progress made in addressing the items on the notice of our ultimatum, and strike, as well as implementing the contents of the re-negotiated in Memorandum of terms of Settlement with Government{ MTS}, NARD resolved to suspend her 10 days strike, and to reassess situation in two weeks at ourAnnual general meeting{AGM} in Abuja.The strike was called to force government to meet doctors demands and pay their salary short fall.
